I was worried, ya?
And all the time when we were in Shanghai, I was never once worried.
But today, I got really worried.
Because I know it's your first time there.
And I have no idea how you'll wander.
If I had known, I never would have suggested that place.
My purpose is to get as many of you exposed to it.
Come one day, you will be hanging out with your peers in the place too.
And I don't want you to be a late learner like me.

And my head can't stop spinning while searching for you.
So please.
Even though you asked me to shut up.
Be safe.

It was that familiar sensation.
You were SINCERELY friendly and jovial, and they merely stared back at you.
Even after 2 years.
EVEN AFTER 2 YEARS OF SEEING THEM FOR MORE THAN 8 HOURS EVERY DAY.

I cannot describe anymore. Lord, I can only cast all these at the foot of Your cross.

A scary thought just occured in my mind.
In a flash of an eye. I might be my da jie's age.
And I definitely don't wanna procrastinate some things like what she's doing now.
I never thought I have the whole world's time.

My #1 insecurity. Insufficient time.

It was a luxury to me. Which explains the huge amounts of photographs I took in Shanghai.

I never know when I'll go overseas again.
I never know.
What will happen the next minute.

I thought I could put it off as long as time could permit.
It wasn't the wisest decision that I made.
The risks outweigh the thrills.

I saw this on the channelnewsasia website.

SHANGHAI : Following the success of the edu-tour to Hong Kong and Beijing in June this year, Channel NewsAsia received an even more overwhelming response to its second "Experience Asia" learning expedition, this time to Shanghai. Besides the chance to take in the sights and sounds of China's most prosperous city, the young participants also got up close and personal with our China Correspondent Tan Bee Leng, as she took them behind the scenes of news production.

Armed with pen, paper and lots of enthusiasm, students were sent on their first assignment to write a story about Asia's largest Antique Music Box Museum in Shanghai. Some 30 students between the ages of 10 and 18 took part in Channel NewsAsia's "Experience Asia" Shanghai Learning Expedition. And if they thought gathering information was tedious, they were even more overwhelmed when they had to face the camera for the first time. "Although it's quite stressful at first, I really enjoy it in the end. Overall, it gave me a sense of accomplishment and achievement. I think it made me more interested in this field and I'll possibly pursue it later," said Josephine Lau, a Catholic Junior College student. Josephine is waiting for her 'A' Level results.

For others, the highlight was a visit to Channel NewsAsia's Shanghai Bureau. The students got a chance to try out the videophone system, used for 'live' reports from Shanghai. Participants also attended a classroom session to learn about interviewing techniques, and each student was given a review of the piece-to-camera they did at the museum. "There are many things I've learnt, like the media stuff, piece-to-camera, anchoring, basically all the terms used for in the news industry. And I got a chance to see Bee Leng's office, something which I don't think many people will get a chance to see. And the sites and sounds of Shanghai as well, so it's really amazing," enthused Jeremy Toh, a secondary 2 student at Clementi Town Secondary School.

"Actually I'm looking forward to going on another trip if Channel NewsAsia is organising another one with the schools. I think it's not just a sightseeing holiday. There is educational content in it and I think there are a lot of perspectives to learn from such tours. I highly recommend it to parents with children," said Dr Mimi Yow, a parent of a participant.

The six-day trip also included visits to neighbouring cities of Suzhou and Hangzhou. - CNA /ls

I shall summarise what happened the past few days.

Saturday

Mum dragged me to this etiquette class at CDAC which lasted for 3 hours. It was all common sense and I'm only there for the food anyway. Who doesnt know that it's a fashion boo-boo to wear pants at ankle length? And so at 5pm I headed for Suntec City and met up with Chunyuan. I havent seen him for 8 months and boy, do I miss him. His hair had gotten long, but otherwise he looked still the same. We shopped in delight at the discounts that every shop seems to offer. (Still, nothing beats the bargaining in Hangzhou. Lol.) In the end we went to Thai Express for dinner. I regreted having the green curry as it led to a bad tummyache for the rest of the night. It was an enjoyable shopping trip albeit a short one and I hoped to hear more from my buddy soon!

Sunday

I brought my better half to church. Luckily it was Pastor Chan preaching, if not we both would have nodded off to snoozeland. We headed for Mango Shaw Centre after church. Better Half had her eyes on these 3 tops but unfortunately she could only purchase them after she had received her paycheck. Oh well. January is approaching, better half! Dinner that night was at Central of Takashimaya. Town was in a mess as Tangs was on fire. Haha. The charred smell permeated through my hair and clothes and I hated it! Anyway. We went on to try exorbitantly priced shoes and had a good laugh at one another. I was hoping this would cheer her up from the horrible Friday night she had.

Monday

Picnic Day!!! I met backseat crew at 0945 at the macdonald's of serene centre. Man. I'm starting to be more familiar with Bukit Timah now. We proceeded to CCAB of MOE and played basketball. Beng and Chiy were already there and we had a jolly great time!!! That is, until the rain came and some unforeseen circumstances cropped up. Now that everything's back to normal, we could only breathe a GIGANTIC sigh of relief at how the afternoon had gone. But no worries!!! I'm looking forward to the next picnic! And by then we could have included Louisa and Hian Lee!!!

Tuesday

No dates today, so I went for work and Voila!! I Received my first paycheck!! Haha. For a moment Christmas seemed to have arrived earlier, but then I rememebered the vow that I had made to you. The torrentous rain caused my estate to be flooded with ankle-deep water. And I wished I could have gone into hibernation just like the squirrels.

"what's with you and Boston Legal? Lol. Continue to take care."
"Giving up sleep for Goong is the way to go if u wanna have eyebags like mine."
" You really told me very little stuff. Go out another day ya?"
" Attachment is the tie to gain more experience other than money. Dont's lose heart!!"
" I hate Friendster. I Dont ever ever wanna use it again."

I was young but I wasn't naive
I watched helpless
As you turn around to leave
And still I have the pain I have to carry
A past so deep
That even you could not bury if you tried

After all this time
I never thought we'd be here
Never thought we'd be here
When my love for you was blind
But I couldn't make you see it
Couldn't make you see it
That I loved you more
Then you will ever know
And part of me died
When I let you go

I would fall asleep
Only in hopes of dreaming
That everything
Would be like it was before
But nights like this
It seems are slowly fleeting
They disappear as reality is crashing to the floor

After all this time
I never thought we'd be here
Never thought we'd be here
When my love for you was blind
But I couldn't make you see it
Couldn't make you see it
That I loved you more
Then you will ever know
And part of me died
When I let you go

After all this why
Would you ever want to leave
Maybe you could not believe it
That my love for you was blind
But I couldn't make you see it
Couldn't make you see it
That I loved you more
Then you will ever know

And part of me died
When I let you go
That I loved you more
Then you will ever know
And part of me died
When I let you go

Man. I'm forming a habit of blogging stuff that happened 3 days ago. Haha. Anyway. 3 days ago. I attended Sherilyn's (a.k.a purple eyes) church performance at ACS Barker. I didnt know what's the title of her play, but her church is St James Church. I met up with Beng, Chiy and jeremy at Newton MRT station at 6.45pm. Since the play started at 8, we killed time by going to Newton Food Centre.

Beng wanted to eat one stick of satay -_-"" and I suggested that he should DIY since no one is willing to sell him just one stick. Lol. However he went to different satay stalls to compare prices. I suspect the bargaining bug had followed him from Shanghai to Singapore. Lol. (Beng, it's Newton Food Centre! Have to accept the fact that satays are 40 cents each.)

In the end I settled for Ice Kacang
while Beng and Chiy shared a plate of oyster omelette.

There was a prayer and praise service, followed by the play, and then a sermon by this Australian pastor. Some photos taken during the performance.

Sherilyn played really convincingly. *applause*. Well done girl. You should consider a career in acting. Haha.

The Backseat Crew met for dinner at Plaza Singapure Cafe Cartel.
I believe we were the fastest in organisinng a reunion merely 2 days after our trip. So I arrived at 6.30pm, half an hour earlier than the proposed 7pm and reserved a table for 10. It's better to over-reserve than under-reserve, isn't it?

The first to arrive, Priscilla Khiu. Haha, she almost couldnt recognise me as I was wearing my work clothes. (nice shirt u wore, Khiu. "No. 1 Shopping Queen"? Lol.)

Vanessa a.k.a Khiu's boyfriend arrived next with a stalk of rose and a box of homemade cookies. See how lovestruck Khiu was? She continued gushing throughout the entire night. XD Vanessa made really delicious cookies. Chewy cookies in dark and white chocolate variants. (Vanee, if u ever run out of pocket money you know what you can sell, ya? :P:P:P

Food was average. 6.5/10. The pork ribs were too much for a person's serving in my opinion. I was so bloated after finishing 9 ribs la..... =(

Dinner conversation revolves Jeremy's dilemma. I shall not elaborate too much here, but a good guess will be that it is a "growing-up" thing la.

A picture of the backseat crew (sans Thomson as he went to visit his granny, and me, being the photographer). From bottom left, clockwise direction: Louisa, Priscilla, Vanessa, Seng Chiy, Jeremy, Corinne and Hian Lee.

We headed to Istana Park for post-dinner chats. You know the area near to Giraffe restaurant? Great place for smooching, snoggling, frenching, caressing............ you get the idea. Too bad Hian Lee and Louisa have to leave early. Haha. Our last photograph before we parted ways at 10.30pm.

Coldplay - Fix You

When you try your best but you don't succeed
When you get what you want but not what you need
When you feel so tired but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse

And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

And high up above or down below
When you're too in love to let it go
But if you never try you'll never know
Just what you're worth

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

Tears stream down your face
when you lose something you cannot replace
Tears stream down your face
And I

Tears stream down your face
I promise you I will learn from my mistakes
Tears stream down your face
And I

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

Thanks Jeremy. It's one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.

I'm leaving tonight!
And I'm still in office.
Haha.
Variety Karaoke sang Madonna songs today. Weird and trashy song. Eww.

Don't ever take bus 155 to Toa Payoh. What seems to be a 30-minute ride turns out to be 40 minutes. Baaaah. Should've taken 26 instead.

Office is lacking tables. I feel like I'm on the mobilisation squad though. Haha. And I realised all the computers have their nickety problems. Take for example the one I'm currently using. It has Excel but no Word. Haha. The previous one had Word but no Excel. Baaaaah.

I guess I wont be blogging for 6 days. Who knows. By then. Better Half may have hooked up with Best Half. Haha. I cant wait!

Ciao ppl. See ya in 6 days.

You're gonna have an amazing recovery. Probably before I came back you would be walking.
Work hard during your break. But remember to save too.
Dont keep dreaming of him la. I still wanna be the godma of your children. Lol.
Good luck on your cultural presentation.
I'm nothing. You're something. One thing. Good thing.

Philosophical and independent
Confident and strong
stylish and charming
Devoted and sensitive
Introspective and expressive
romantic and humorous
Sociable and stylish

That's who you are.

--------------------------------------------- a>----------------------------------------------------
Need to send some clothes for dry cleaning. Alas. Toa Payoh Central has EVERYTHING except a laundry shop. But most of them are second-hand mobile phones shops. I hate Toa Payoh mobile phones shops. Baah.

Heard that prom last night was a flop. Haha. Expected la. It's not like they'll get Rod Monterio to be the host of the event. And it wasn't at a swanky hotel. Double Baah.

Somebody forgot to wake me up this morning. So i arrived at 11am. Haha. I think the office is only 20% occupied. Lol. Should have taken my own time to arrive.

The lowest temperature my air-con can go is 13 degrees celcius. Even then, my nose is still running longer than a quad-athlete. Lobangs for plumbers? If not, I've gotta buy some nose pegs. Triple baah.

Going to do survey for mingsong later. HAHA. Mingsong the surveyor. Lol. Didnt't know he loves approaching ppl so much. But ok la. He's amongst one of the most thick-skinned ppl i've ever met. So i'm going to show him my support!!! =D

Don't move around too much. Rest Well.
You can do it! It won't be as messed up as the previous performance I'm sure.
Happy December. May this month bring u more fun than November.
Hope to see you on 21st. I kinda miss you.
We were. Had. Did. Could have been. Would have been. Should have been.
